Shoot Your Arrow
I am sitting here at a local coffee shop thinking why is it I am starting a blog? I do not think I could even answer that if I wanted to. It is something I am doing out of impulse. I am currently reading a book and something stuck out to me. The mentality of never giving up, or never quitting until you know you can't try anymore. It talks about shooting all of your arrows and not just taking one chance but multiple chances. As I am sitting here I think about everything I have going on in my life today. I am about to finally start college, I am almost finished getting my real estate license, and I am branching off and starting my career. I am walking out into a new broad frontier. Stepping into professional life.
I plan to tell my story in a few of these blog posts. I hope it reaches the people who need to hear it. But most importantly I want to show that through imperfection and trial and error I have learned more than any school or university could ever teach. I have continually dug holes for myself, but in the words of a friend of mine, I am the only person who can fall into a pile of shit and come out wearing a tuxedo. That can mean several things, I like to think it means I have gotten good at doing the best with whatever I have in front of me.
I am proud of my shortcomings because they have brought me to where I am today. I have plenty of stories and topics to cover with this blog but I want my main focus to be on my struggles and how I overcame adversity. Also, I will be covering travel, finance updates, and documenting my fitness journey while pursuing bodybuilding again.
I am a Jackson MS native, but I have lived in NY, CA, and AZ. I've even been homeless before, that is an interesting story for another time. I hope to inspire, connect, and take you along this journey that is my life.
